Loft Insulation
Up to 25% of the heat produced in your home is lost through your roof if the loft is not insulated. Loft insulation is a very effective way to reduce your fuel bills since it acts as a blanket trapping heat rising from the living space below, and can save you on average £205 off your annual fuel bill.
Technical
The current recommended standard requires 270mm (approx 11") of loft "insulation. You are eligible for an insulation grant if your home has up to 150mm (approx 6").
Our specially negotiated prices include the lagging of all cold water tanks and pipes in the loft and insulating and draft proofing your loft hatch. The insulation is quick and simple to install and can usually be completed within a couple of hours.
The insulation used by the Heat Project is a glass or mineral fibre material and is laid between the joists with additional layers cross-laid at right angles to ensure there are no gaps at the top of the joists.
Please note that the grants available apply to insulation laid on the floor of the loft and do not apply to any insulation that may be required under the tiles/slates. Also, the insulation that we install under our scheme is not suitable for converted loft areas or where boards cover over 20% of the floor space.
