 According to a survey conducted after the launch of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and Home Information Packs (HIPs), the average four bedroom house is getting an ´E´ rating based on the A – G energy efficiency scale, with A being the optimum energy efficiency rating and G being the least energy efficient.

By recognising the deficiencies in loft insulation in houses built prior to 1990, and the lack of insulation in cavity walls in buildings built between 1935 and 1980, the Heat Project actively targets each household throughout the UK through mailing campaigns and other marketing activity to raise awareness of the free or grant assisted insulation measures available through the project.

Through these energy saving measures the Heat Project reduces households’ carbon footprints by cutting the amount of CO2 lost through their roof and walls, whilst saving over £250 on their annual fuel bills.

All households throughout Britain are entitled to a grant for loft and cavity wall insulation through the Heat Project.

As an example of the saving you could be entitled to, based on a 3 bed semi-detached house, subject to survey and funding availability, you can expect to receive a grant worth up to £370 based on the typical insulation price of £509 without a grant.
